Huntley Minesweeper Bombed by Germans aircraft, 30 miles W of Mersa Matruh, in the Mediterranean Sea, 18 dead, 31.25N 26.48E 31/01/1941

Illustrious Carrier Damaged by bombs from Italian Savoia-Marchetti SM 79 & German Ju 87 Stuka dive-bomber aircraft, 7 bombs & 1 near miss, mostly 110 lbs & one 2200 lbs went through the armoured flight deck causing major extensive damage to sick bay & ward room 10/01/1941. Damaged by bombs from German aircraft whilst under emergency repair at Malta 16/01/1941 & 19/01/1941. Ship moved to Alexandria for temporary repair 23/01/1941
Naiad Cruiser Damaged in storm whilst trying to remain in contact with German warships Gneisenau & Scharnhorst, S of Iceland, she suffered serious structural damage & lost contact 28/01/1941
